I feel your shame, but in the Pilbara you're more likely to be noticed if you *don't* have a mo.
Here's mine as of 15 November:

Despite appearances the sidies do not join up. Those moved to sponsor this abomination can do so here:

Thanks Will. I certainly do not feel it's inappropriate. I just hope his Mo is as impressive as my Chopper (that's Chopper Read by the way, not me).

Jangari--

Since you're not participating, perhaps you wouldn't mind if I plug someone who is, an American mate, Joel Newman, who works for Austrade in Los Angeles, and does a lot to support Aboriginal art sales here in America. Readers can help by following this link:
http://www.movember.com/us/donate/?action=sponsorlink&rego=95163

Thanks (delete if you feel this is inappropriate)

Obviously though, MrsChili, this isn't to take anything away from women's health, but yes, men do get the short end (Australians say 'shit end') of the stick when it comes to the public recognition of health. By way of example, prostate cancer apparently kills as many men (in Australia) as breast cancer kills women. So I think it's a little deserving of its own little publicity stunt.

The rules are to be taken facetiously though. The first time I read them, last year in a participating café (all wait staff were donning mad moes), they had a poster on the wall explaining the rules. They included:
*There is to be no contact between the mo and the sideburns. That, ladies and gentlemen, is a 'beard'.
*While a small portion of hair directly below the bottom lip, commonly called a 'tickler', is permitted, chin level hair activity connecting either end of the mo is deemed a 'goatee'.

I love the idea - I think that men get the short end of the proverbial stick when it comes to health care issues, at least in this country - but I think that having RULES about the moustache thing is a little much (unless, of course, there are prizes).
