We had three military personnel; one of whom was involved in the meeting, gathering information on housing needs, etc., and the other two as a part of Norforce, there to provide accommodation and transport to the entire survey team (about 8 people in total).

No journalists though. Which is consistent with the media attention that the issue is receiving. Until last week, the 'indigenous' news tag on the ABC news website had about 15 articles per day. Now it is back to the baseline of next to nothing.

Frank, the Warlpiri veni, vidi, yanulu was of your coining, I believe. Nice work.

An aside from Yuendumu:
After the survey team (not the highly touted 'emergency team' that got all the headlines) had their public meeting here, my 11 year old grandson went up to one of the two military personnel that came here, and asked: "Where are the others?". I think he was dissapointed as he'd been hoping for a regiment with tanks, helicopters and blazing bazookas.
I was told that Kintore got eight military personnel on their survey team visit. Does that mean Kintore has four times the sexual abuse problems Yuendumu has? I think more likely they decided to maintain the same Journalist:Soldier ratio for both visits. Media interest had somewhat waned by the time they came here.
